What I Had Today…
Oct 3rd, 2008 by Alvin Chong
You know, I realise that my blog is turning into a food blog but seriously, I can’t help it. The food here is just irresistible sometimes and I cannot help taking pictures of them.
Anyway, Clare and I didn’t know what to eat this morning so we settled for…

the Zhao Zhai Bee Hoon. This is the infamous Foochow dish which is deliciously sour in taste. The supposedly Vercemilli looks more like mee to me. Clare claims this to be the best Zhao Zhai Bee Hoon that she has ever tasted by far in Kuching.
The serving is generously big in size but with only 1 miserable prawn. In any case, the taste is definitely superb and is especially tempting to those wanting or craving something sour.
We then went on for a tour around Kuching city in search of something better to do. After that, afternoon struck and we were again out hunting for food. We had this for lunch:

This is the Curry Fried Chicken Rice. Yes, I know you cannot see any curry soup in place. It’s separately served. This is not the first time I have tasted this dish, but I can tell you that this is an absolutely delicious dish, albeit simple. You can have pork added to the dish, but I didn’t fancy pork this afternoon.
Let the pictures tempt you taste buds already! I’ll be back with more things to blog about! ![]()

Come let’s go have Zhao Chai Hoon Ngang again! *droooool*
u know something. i can’t believe i miss fried chicken rice. -.-
What camera you are using.?
How can you shot so clear shot?
Hmmm… looks delicious. I think I’ve tried the Zhao Zhai Bee Hoon once in my life. Back then, I couldn’t appreciate the sourish taste, hence told myself never will I try this bee hoon ever again. Haha. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind trying this noodle once again. Wish they sell them here in Sydney. Wait, maybe they do, but with a different name. Does anyone know?
Clare: You will always have the chance to.
Nicole: Well, I can, considering how frequent you travel.
keeyit: I am using the Canon 400D dSLR. How I took these clear shots… Hmmm, honestly, I don’t know how to explain. Forgive me. haha…
Anne S Juan: You mean they do sell these in Australia? Hmmm, haven’t seen them when I was there, so I wouldn’t know. Come back to Sarawak and you can definitely get authentic ones here.
