Mamak and Their Wonders
Aug 25th, 2008 by Alvin Chong
If you have stayed in KL long enough, the term “mamak” is probably not foreign to you. Sometimes, it makes me wonder what is so good about these stalls.
Fine, they are open 24 hours and that’s a good thing for people like me who prefers to sit around coffee shops catching up rather than staying at home doing nothing.
Anyway, if you go to the right stall, they do serve pretty interesting and delicious food. I know for one, some people cannot take the spiciness of the food. You get food ranging from nasi kandar all the way to simple dishes like maggi mee. Sometimes, I am so sick of nasi kandar that i take…

THIS. Yea, that’s maggi mee soup with double egg. You don’t wanna ask me how much it cost, because you’re most probably gonna go berserk and you’d come yelling your lungs out at me.
You know, these Indians somehow like to add their own ingredients to make their food “unique”. Most of the time, they’d even throw in vegetables like cabbage, which of course I didn’t like, and asked them not to.

Then, you also have the infamous Maggi Goreng. It’s really a simple yet delicious dish. Again, it depends on which stall you go to. Some taste absolutely fantastic and some taste like crap. Creatively, you should compliment your food with this…

There you go, simple, fulfilling dishes which would probably cost you two figure amounts. Now you wonder why all those bosses get to drive luxurious continentals and you don’t, yet? ![]()

Those mamaks real cut-throats! The prices at those nasi kandar shop really unreasonable. After all, it’s just nasi campur!!! And you can end up paying more than RM10.00. Btw, thanks for dropping by my blog. Not my first time here! Posted a comment or two long, long ago… LOL!
suituapui: Yea, they are! Clare and I could whallop up a dinner costing us RM20-30! The funny part of it is that we didn’t even eat anything special!
Hey chum, not a problemo… Yea, I remembered seeing your name quite sometime ago. You rock on, mate!
Maggi Goreng !!
