Not A Good Start

Good lord gracious me. Without noticing, it has been 2 months into the new year and it is now the beginning of the third month. The scary part of them all is that, you did not even notice how time flies! It was all about Chinese New Year more than 3 weeks ago. All were eager to celebrate the new lunar year. Now, the 15th day of new year has come to pass. It’s all back to normal mundane work routine now.
Anyway, the start of this year hadn’t exactly been a good one for me. With the exception of that little luck that struck me during the Chinese New Year, everything hadn’t exactly been good. First off, I dropped my most expensive torch EVER, just right after it struck midnight to signify a new start. Thank goodness for its durability. Then, I lost my good old Sony Ericsson K750i handphone on the fourth day of new year. The thing to learn here is to always have your IMEI number in hand just so that you can block off your stolen handphone from connecting to a telco network, ever! Yes, I curse whichever bastard that stole my handphone.
What hurt most is the fact that I lost all my contacts. A stolen handphone is replaceable but lost contacts, they are gone forever. Another lesson to learn here is to always back up your contacts. I ended up spending unnecessary money replacing all that I have lost. Then, work itself isn’t that much better. In fact, it became worse right after I came back from my holidays. Can you imagine the horror I’d be getting if my work screwed me right during Chinese New Year itself? I’d be so pissed!
Seriously, I don’t know if it’s me or if nothing is really going according to my plan this year, albeit this being the year of the rat, which is my year. All these are enough to drive me crazy. Yesterday, I was supposed to attend a model show at Bangsar. I ended up at the wrong venue. I searched on the net before going off but the place had apparently been shifted a couple of months back and no one knew where the new place was.In the end, I missed the whole bloody thing.
Then a couple of days back, I was supposed to catch a flight back from Kota Bharu and due to the carelessness and also the negligence of some other people, we ended up missing our flights. To make things worse, the airline crew wasn’t at all friendly and was being hostile even before we could explain our situation to him. WTF?! I know it was a mistake and fault on our part but there was also fault on the part of the airport personnel. Hey, as a customer service officer, at least hear us out and then tell us who should be responsible for it, in this case the airport announcer. I am a reasonable guy. I take reasons. If it was the airport announcer’s fault, then be it. No need for that hostility. Yes, I do understand they have been through a lot of unreasonable customers, but I ain’t one of them!
At the end of the day, I tried consoling myself with everything I can, and I still am. I told myself that “new things won’t come if the old one doesn’t go” when I lost my handphone. I told myself that this was a good lesson learned when I missed my flight. Albeit being pissed at the customer service officer, I cooled myself down and told myself that it was partly our fault.
At the moment, I have a lot of things that are not going my way but those are less significant, so forget it. Anyway, I am just glad that my family members are safe and that they were there for me when I needed them the most. I try to look at things from a positive perspective, although sometimes I cannot help but to think of how unlucky I can get at times. hahaha… Yea, laughing at myself now.
Anyway, that is it for now. Yea, I know I haven’t been updating for a long, long time but like I said, things haven’t really been going the way I planned them to. Hence, reality has kept me busy and I have to catch up with it. There are still plenty of things I want to write but that would have to wait for another day, when I have the photos ready. Adios for now! Take care!
