Transformers Toy (Blackout)
Sep 18th, 2007 by Alvin Chong
Alright, I have to admit that I have been a Transformers freak ever since the 2007 Transformers movie. Who would have thought director Michael Bay would transform such a cartoon into a movie that interests even adults?
The changing of the original cars and planes not withstanding, the transformation is nothing short of breathtaking. It makes even adults dream about having such a machine, that transforms and reshapes anytime it wanted to.
Of course slapping ourselves back to reality, that ain’t gonna happen, at least not anytime soon. So you know what? I resorted to the toys. Although the transformation isn’t as complicated as that you see in the movie, I still have to give credit to the creators because I seriously do not know where the heck they derived all these transformation ideas from.
Anyway, back to the main thing, I got this Decepticon Blackout for my brother. In case you haven’t yet noticed, it’s the Sikorsky helicopter featured in the movie. This is the Voyager class as they do not have the Leader class version. I would love to see the Leader class version though.
As you can see, the details are quite meticulous and the rotor spins with a constant push on a button at the back. There is a button at the back that will even deploy the cruel Scorponok from the back of the heli.
The color of the helicopter is not really as seen in the movie but hey, it’s a toy and really, there is nothing much to complain about. With the exception that a part of the heli which is quite lose for my liking, everything is pretty much where it is supposed to be.
Of course, being the japanese Takara Tomy edition, it cost me a little bit more, but hey, there really isn’t much of a choice when not many toy shops are selling it anymore.
I am sorry, there isn’t too many pictures I can show here as my camera ran out of battery half way through my photography session!! I am sorry, there isn’t any transformation of this pretty little helicopter.
This baby is now back in Kuching. Of course, I still have my Leader class Optimus Prime, Megatron and Decepticon Brawl. These will be in other posts though, so you’ll just have to wait.
As much as I’d like to collect all of them, I guess it’s just a little bit too costly to be spending my money on all these toys.
I’d really like to collect the Decepticon Barricade and Autobot Ironhide. It’s too late though, as they have ran out of stock and they don’t intend to bring in anymore of these! ![]()
