My Most Expensive Durian Ever!
Aug 7th, 2007 by Alvin Chong
You know how it feels when you work away from home for a long time? It’s like you miss out on all the fun that you used to have back home and having durians is one of those moments. Normally, when you work away from home, you don’t wanna bother too much about any other things except the basic necessities to get through with life. Even then, they still cost a fair bit.
Anyway, since I haven’t had durians for quite sometime, I decided to buy two humongous durians when I saw someone selling them. I was so tempted when I saw the yellowish aromatic flesh.
I know I know, some people don’t like durians. You either like or hate this King of Fruits, there is no in between.
When I said humongous, I meant really huge. The photo does not do its size justice. Think of it this way, Clare and I had a hard time finishing the 2 durians. Unfortunately for us, we kept the durians in the car boot for the whole afternoon while shopping around.
By the time we got back in the evening, the flesh was already a little bit watery. Being deprived of durians, I couldn’t give a damn so I just took the flesh anyway.
Not the best durian I have tasted so far. The one thing that really turns me off when I buy durians in West Malaysia is the fact that they count the price by weight. The 2 durians cost me about RM60 but I managed to reduce it to a still hefty RM56. I can get these 2 durians for less than RM50 in Sarawak!

And I still burped the durians till today…sigh~!!!
ho! eat durians never invite me!!
kuching is very terrible hot how about KL?
my advise to u do not take too much durian although sweet and sticky
take care
do not overstress
Clare: Don’t worry about it. At least we eliminate our cravings for durians.
Nicole: Sorry! I always had this impression that you’re the kinda girl who is not that into durians. LOL.
james wong: KL is always hot any day but try to stay cool indoors. I seldom take durians anyway.
