Some people just do business in a funny way. Not honouring your words when doing business for no reason is just a big NO NO to me. If you have a valid reason behind it, that is fine but if not, you will leave me with a big WTF!!!

Anyway, a while ago, I was desperately finding for the Leader Class Optimus Prime. After a LONG search, I finally found it. Imported directly from Japan, I was charged a sum more expensive, which I didn’t mind. Considering it was imported directly from Japan, I guess that is the price I have to pay.

There was also a Leader Class Megatron left on the shelf, which Clare was hesitant to take but after that decided to take it after much reluctance. Oh yea, she didn’t regret a single bit after that.

Clare wanted the Optimus Prime but was out of stock back then. We had to make an order for it. The shop owner said it had to come in a set together with the Megatron. I decided to take a Megatron as well since I kinda liked it as well. So the conversation went something like this:

Me: Boss, gimme discount on this Megatron la, I bought an Optimus Prime from you just now and I am getting another pair of these two from you in a month’s time.
Boss: Cannot la, very cheap already. I give you discount for the next pair la.
Me: Aiya, I buy so many from you, can la. If next time I want something, I’ll come look for you again, but gimme a good price ma.
Boss: OK la OK la… Next time remember to introduce your friends here ya?
Me: Sure, if you give good prices and good toys.

That was it, I was waiting in anticipation for about a month and finally gave him a call a few days ago. So this was how the conversation went:

Me: Hello, I am Alvin calling to ask if the Transformers figurine is in. I booked from you the last time.
Boss: Oh, in already but the Optimus Prime is Takara Tomy one.
Me: Oh, how much is it?
Boss: Oh, RM219.
Me: Wah, got discount or not?
Boss: Sorry la, no discount. This is very cheap already.
Me: How bout Megatron? Got discount or not?
Boss: No la, very cheap already…
Me: (WTF?!?!? &^%#&!@^#%!*@) Eh, last time I ordered from you, you said got discount le.
Boss: Your name not in the book le.
Me: Got la, you check. You wrote my name down.
Boss: Oh, but you didn’t pay deposit.
Me: (WTF?!?!?! *&%#^*) You didn’t ask me to pay deposit the last time! You just asked me to write my name to order. Maybe you forgot who I am already la. Maybe we talk more tonight la.
Boss: OK la, you come la. It will cost up to RM408 if you buy the Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Me: Cheaper a bit la.
Boss: I give you RM400 la.
Me: Alright. I see you then.

Later that night, I took a taxi all the way down there.

Me: Hello boss, forgot about me already?
Boss: You Alvin?
Me: Ya la, where is the Optimus Prime and Megatron?
Boss: Aiya, you take the Optimus first la. I am short of stock on Megatron. All reserved already.
Me: But you told me end of the month and you told me there was stock when I called you this afternoon!
Boss: Really out of stock already.
Me: You have quite a few here. People haven’t pick it up yet. Gimme first la. I am here already.
Boss: Sorry la, really cannot. People reserved it already and will come and collect it tomorrow.
Me: (WTF?!?! Am I not your customer? I have reserved it as well. Who are these people that they are more important than me?)
Me: Eh, I also reserve ma. I reserved one month ago and you told me end of this month. I am here already. I won’t come back anymore la. It is so hard to get here
Boss: You get it 2 weeks from now la. I send it to you if you are busy, you don’t have to come.
Me: Aiya, I am busy la, I am not sure if I am gonna be here. Just give it to me now la. I wanna give it to somebody as a present. 

After much reluctance, he gave in and gave me a unit of the Megatron.  The piece he gave to me, either coincidentally or purposely, was damaged on it’s chest.  I swapped it with another unit which was functional.

Me: OK la, I take this Optimus and Megatron. How much?
Boss: RM408.
Me: I called you this afternoon and you said you will give me RM400 right?
Boss: Cannot la. You take 2 weeks from now I give you that price.
Me: (WTF?!?!?! KNNCCBTNS) You see you see? Keep twisting your words.
Boss: Really cannot la.

I gave up after that. I didn’t wanna argue any longer. Not that I mind so much about the RM8 extra, rather it was the business etiquette that disturbed me.He kept twisting his words here and there. Rest assured, I am not buying anything from him anymore unless there is something he and no one else has. Nonetheless, I am happy I got myself the 2 leader class figurines, and so is Clare.
