Surfing the 3G Style
Jan 30th, 2007 by Alvin Chong
I just subscribed myself to Celcom 3G today and I was crossing my fingers hoping that my place has 3G coverage. No joke OK, RM999 right on the spot to get the blardy data card and if I cannot get connected to 3G I’d be screwed. GPRS is way too slow so no thanks. Even when it autoswitched to GPRS due to low 3G signal, I forced it back to the 3G network. Thanks to the 6 months free surfing though, I get to surf free for the next half a year to come.

The beauty of it all though is that I get to surf the internet without any need for any telephone lines. It’s broadband speed as well, though not the fastest of them all, I still get a decent 384Kbps. Imagine being able to surf the internet on the go. Sit in a bus on the way down to Johor from KL and surfing the internet from the bus. Way cool, huh? No Wifi hotspot limitations and no lines, that’s true freedom. That goes to show how far technology has come and how humans are pushing the limits of it. What was thought to be impossible more than a decade ago is now coming true.
So yes, I finally have my own internet connection in KL which is really a good thing. I don’t have to feel so bored when I am at home now. Celcom 3G, Now Playing In Your Hands. ![]()
